....where you can buy some fried dough and souveniers while honoring our fallen heros...when did this turn into a carnival atmosphere?

Not saying I disagree with feeling uneasy when that happens, but this is America, and small business is the backbone of America. Not to mention that towns sell permits for all these vendor actions.

Look at the WW II Memorial Dedication at Veterans Park in Manchester - except for free water supplied by the Red Cross, everything else there was a food or souvenir vendor. Even the committee responsible for the monument was there selling the name books to make money.

I just think it's sad to see a small kid eating a hot dog and smiling while pointing at the wall. It's not party time.
