It looks like many of you are now afraid to post on here, and that is disturbing. If you are not doing anything wrong, you have nothing to fear.

And let me clear one thing up, and that is that the moderator/owner of this board will not and has not identified any poster without first being served a subpoena for that posters identity. And then only to legal authorities.

My sources of identifying posters are legal resources outside this discussion board. People think making up an anonymous posting name means that there is no way to trace them, or identify them, and that is simply not true. There are so many ways to do this without breaking the law it is laughable for anybody to think they can't be identified. This site happens to be one of the hardest to obtain personal information from.

Need I say more about posters who show up just to aggravate and kill discussion? Or does this prove the point well enough?

When you put up a pointless threads people are obviously going to mock you. You act like god of the insider. You are a very scary individual oh god Robert please don't find out who I am. No one says anything on here even remotely threatening except for you, who feels exceptionally privileged behind his computer.

Shane,

I believe what Mr. Howe is stating is the fact that anyone can 'assume' a name as they choose. However any remarks that seem inappropriate or off the cuff should not be tolerated.

Let's face it, we are all adults here and our opinions are ours, they may not be agreed upon by everyone, yet the key word here is adults.

To have a meaningful discussion on something leads to solutions some or others may not have thought of yet. But to go around and be so negitive it takes away from the topic being discussed turns people away and the end result is no solution can be found to issues facing our towns/cities, state or nation.

So yes, keeping personal attacks private in a 'private message' or PM is better.

Respect for others is a hard thing for some people and gaining trust is even more difficult to say the least.

Let's respect each other, work towards positive solutions and meaningful discussions so that this website/discussion board can be the foundation of other such boards that will reach much more people.

"we are all adults"

that's a bit of a stretch.

Let me add to things here Robert:

My exposing MUSH was not for what he said, which while extremely partisan was annoying, it was for the fact that as public employee his spending all day on the computer at taxpayer expense was something I would not tolerate. If a private employer has no problem with an employee goofing off all day on payroll that is their problem. But as for Public employees, when we have some of these people, including MUSH, claiming that there is no waste in government to cut, and that layoffs of government workers is not right, that just pushed me over the edge. Had he done the same posting at night at his expense there would have been no need to expose him.

Now as to personal attacks in emails and PM's, there are Federal laws regarding such actions, especially when they become threatening, and I have had some loonies on here send some very disturbing things to me. I let them  slide because exposing them, within the law was just too easy.

Ignorance of the Law is no excuse - purposely violating it or ignoring it has consequences.
