Now this post has gone from Mike Garrity to Tammy?   I don't necessarily agree with the stances Tammy takes but I do respect her for her hard work.  I probably don't agree politically at all with Tammy but why knock someone who works hard to do something for her community?  If only Alderman Garrity would have worked as hard instead of playing in the bars he may have won his election.

Apparently, for some, it is pleasurable to knock me. That's OK, I'm a big girl and I've gone head to head with those far more formidable than an anonymous hack. : )

I don't think the bar thing had anything to do with Garrity losing.

I don't either Tammy.  I believe it was the Walmart deal that sunk him...

He let that issue become the focus and never grabbed a hold of it. You can't allow that.

I agree it was the Walmart issue, not the bar, that had to do with his defeat. Unfortunately I think he and his supporters felt it was a non-issue, and that his status as a successful incumbent meant the people would just ignore those signs. They should have countered by pointing out all the Dems who voted for the Walmart project, or the advantages of the project to the majority of Manchester citizens and the tax rate.

I agree totally, it was the Wilmar issues that done cost Mike Grarity his election, much more the the Bar Issue.  As an Independent Voter, I liked Garrity over all, but I didn't agree with him on all the issues.  But not to worry, Mike Garrity will return as a candidate come 2011's campaign cycle.  Well, the people have spoken, so lets give Barbra her do chance to govern & see how she dose.  Change can sometimes be good, I know the city needs a change in polices if we are too stand a chance to move this city forward & solve some of our problems long-term, rather then the continued short-term solutions that only end up throwing Tax Dollars at our city problems without any long-term results at solving them.
